Updated Cadet Corps Uniform by Simi78049 Updated Cadet Corps Uniform by Simi78049
Me in my updated cadet corps uniform with belt and shoulder cords. Only thing missing is the garrison cap. My captain is a little lazy so we don't have our garrison caps when we were supposed to get them months ago. What I'm also missing is my CAL and Corps brass insignia that go on my collar. Other missing item is my 11th brigade patch and the reason is the same my captain is lazy.

(I saw this picture because I favourited your 'guidon capture' picture, which was cool)

Some constructive comment on your uniform from an experienced airman- it's looking sharp, but could be improved a little. The right trouser leg in particular needs to be ironed better (what we Brits call "pressed"), such that the creases run straight down from the gathers at the front belt-loops right to the centre of the leg-end (and the same at the rear). That'll make the trouser ends sit better on your shoes.

Gig line appears ok....

That name badge: may I ask (and I am unsure about this....but I could be right), is it the correct colour? Black, I mean? I would have expected you guys to have followed the US State Guard style, and been red? And shouldn't it have an engraved line along the bottom, maybe CA CADET CORPS??

Anyway, minor stuff- enjoy your time in Cadets. Will you eventually join the CAP before ROTC? Different systems from the UK. But good pics, well done (esp the guidon picture, did they give it back eventually??)

Well I'm not in that picture and not sure how you wear the uniform and that guy with the thumbs up is a retired Marine CPT and when I get in to high school I'm going to join AFJROTC then AFROTC to become a 2LT in the AF. Not sure how the Commandant uniforms need to be worn so clueless. Yes, we did get our guidon back but it was embarassing not sure when because I didn't go to bivouac so not sure prob at the end of it.

I've always heard good reports about the US Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs. Good luck with that!

I am currently a C/RCT and she is giving out black and white uniforms to kids she likes. I am in the 333rd battalion at Shandin Hills. I am friends with the highest rank in the state and he and Captain West went out to see the Captain and she still hasn't gotten us our brigade patches and yet some people have them. We also still don't have our CAL and Corps brass. She already has low ranks who are the rank of C/CDT on battalion staff. We haven't learned marching and from what I heard we were supposed to learn it in August. She also sent some random person to Basic Leadership School and made him an S-1 Safety Officer and now he's going to Intermediate Leadership School and she also made another girl an S-2 Safety Officer. By the way, what battalion are you in and are you also in the 11th Brigade.

P.S. the red and white cord is flag detail

I am in the 18th Brigade up in the High Desert and the 380th Battalion of Riverside Prep.
The battalion is a school and if you are absent of higher ranks the lower ranks get staff positions.
As for friends in the Corps, I am friends with the State Commander, C/MAJ Fransico Arias III (being from the 18th Brigade) and the State S-5, C/CPT Steve Wilson. Arias is the highest ranking Cadet in the state and my Lieutenant is the CoC of his school.
S-2 is a Brigade level position so if your CoC put one on Battalion that is a problem and the shortage of utilities and supplies wouldn't be your CoC's fault it would be your S-4 or Brigade. The choices of positions and priveledges are still up to the CoC even if you are unhappy with them and it is important to remember this is a military program. The individual (you) is at the service to the group (your Battalion/Brigade/Corps) and you follow the orders of your commander unless it is morally questionable. That also means the Commander is to only order others without prejudice or passion.
